HOW I Use OCD?

  • When given a task or project, analyze what skills are needed. Organize your activities by writing these down, so you know exactly what needs to be done and who are the people needed to execute. This helps in ensuring you have all your activities written and you minimize chances of missing a critical activity.
  • Communicate these requirements, skills, and deadlines to your team. Communication is one of the most important factors in any walk of life. Make sure everyone is informed. I am always telling people that when a task is assigned and you are not able to finish in the desired time or with desired outcome. Do not wait and communicate with people who are waiting for these outcomes. Let them know you may take more time or you need a better understanding.
  • Delegate tasks that match the strengths of your team and yourself. This will allow you to accomplish more together and for each person to feel satisfied. Make sure delegation is completed by setting right expectations and any training if required. This will ensure that people involved are fully aware of what is needed from them and know exactly how to execute.
